The Canadian government recently embarked on a campaign to highlight the benefits of a Canada-EU Trade and Economic Agreement including speeches to the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada. Celso Boscariol, a business lawyer and partner here at Watson Goepel LLP, holds the position of President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada. Mr. Boscariol has been active in negotiations for a trade and economic agreement wih the EU for some time. He welcomes the Canadian government’s efforts to build on the strong Canada-Italy relationship that already exists and to unlock the full potential of a mutually beneficial relationship by bringing Canada-EU trade negotiations to successful fruition. Mr. Boscariol notes: “A trade agreement with the European Union will give Canadian businesses a competitive advantage,” and, on behelf of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, “Our members welcome the Canadian government’s efforts to strengthen the transatlantic linkages that make our economies stronger.”
