Background and Professional Activities
Mr. Morgan is one of the firm’s senior solicitors. Mr. Morgan was a founding partner of Fox Morgan Brown and practiced with that firm until it joined Watson Goepel LLP in January 2004. His practice is primarily business law and commercial real estate. He has acted for clients in the acquisition and development of hotels, shopping centres, apartment buildings, and office complexes. In many instances he has assisted in negotiations for the initial purchase of land and financing for the purchase and development. He has also provided ongoing legal and strategic advice for the management of these properties, having extensive experience negotiating (and where necessary, enforcing) commercial leases on behalf of both Landlords and Tenants. He also advises many small and medium sized business clients on all aspects of business law and assists his personal clients and their family members with residential conveyances, wills and estates and incorporation of companies.
Mr. Morgan was born and raised in Vancouver and received his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1972. Mr. Morgan was called to the Bar of British Columbia in May 1973. Mr. Morgan has been a member of the VIFF for the last 20 years. Currently he is a director and the past President of the Pacific Cinemateque, a not-for profit society dedicated to the understanding of film and moving images. Over the years he and his wife have travelled to many corners of the world including Africa, Vietnam, India, South America, South East Asia, the Middle East, Antarctica, and many points in between.
