Jon Lazar on Family Matters with Judge Harvey Brownstone
As a family law lawyer my practice covers such issues affecting British Columbia families like: divorce, separation, common-law trusts, property division, children (custody, guardianship, access, residency and child protection), as well as pre/post-marriage style agreements.
A family law practice focused on advancing client’s interests and expectations. My goal is to work with clients to keep costs, conflict and emotional stress low, all the while working to achieve the most favourable legal solutions under their given circumstances. While skilled in traditional litigation strategies, my practice emphasizes the use of out-of-court and innovative settlement procedures such as mediation, Collaborative Law, or counseling. I am a charter member of the BC Collaborative Roster Society, a province-wide roster of professionals who are trained, experienced, and committed to excellence in Collaborative Practice.
I can act both as an advocate for individual clients (as litigation or collaborative law counsel), or can assist multi-party family law disputes as a Certified Family Law Mediator. My practice covers such issues affecting British Columbia families as: divorce, separation, common-law trusts, property division, children (custody, guardianship, access, residency and child protection), as well as pre/post-marriage or cohabitation style agreements.
