We have an immediate opening for an experienced, full-time associate with a minimum of 4 years of wills, estates, and trusts experience to primarily work out of our professional and friendly West Vancouver office.
You will work alongside our senior partner in building our growing Wills & Estates practice group. You have experience preparing wills, trusts, power of attorney and representation agreements, business succession planning and estate administration including probate and intestacy.
You maintain a client-focused mindset, have superior analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy, and are able to solve complex problems using your knowledge of the law. You are likeable, hardworking, have an entrepreneurial mindset, willing to embrace technology to bring efficiencies to your practice and are willing to work as part of a team. You are a member in good standing with the Law Society of BC.

Salary
We are on a lockstep compensation model years 1-5 ranging from $100K-$150K. Beyond five years, the salary is commensurate with your experience.

Commercial Litigator
Watson Goepel LLP is a multi-service downtown Vancouver firm serving clients for over 35 years. We have an immediate opening for an experienced, full-time associate with 2-4+ years of litigation and dispute resolution experience.
We provide a professional and collegial work environment with excellent associate mentorship opportunities. The position will involve working on a variety of litigation matters including insolvency and restructuring matters, corporate litigation disputes, and real property disputes. The position will primarily involve drafting pleadings, research and strategy, chamber applications, preparation for and attendance at trial, discoveries, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations.
With an emphasis on collaboration, we hold weekly practice group meetings to ensure our lawyers remain connected and supported by their team as they develop their individual practices. The size of our firm provides the administrative infrastructure required to support our lawyers’ busy practices, while still providing the best aspects of small firm culture.
Requirements
- A JD/LLB and Member of the Law Society of British Columbia
- 2+ years of commercial litigation experience

Litigation Paralegal
We are currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our Personal Injury practice in Calgary. This position is a hybrid position mostly working remotely. This position reports to Practice Group Leader and Partner in our personal injury department in Vancouver.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist lawyers in managing personal injury case files, including conducting client interviews, gathering relevant documents and evidence, and maintaining case files.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various aspects of personal injury law, including states, regulations, and case law to support case preparation and strategy.
- Client Communication: You will be our Calgary representative for any clients that require to meet in person. You will also be required to communicate with insurance companies, medical providers, and other parties involved in cases to obtain information.
- Document Preparation: Prepare and draft legal documents, such as discovery requests, and settlement agreements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
- Trial Support: Assist lawyers during trial preparation and proceedings.
- Administrative Tasks: Assisting with various administrative tasks, calendar management, maintaining billing records, and other ad-hoc tasks.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Paralegal program from an accredited institution
- 3+ years’ experience working in personal injury
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent internal stakeholder communication, this role works very closely with colleagues based in our Vancouver office
- Solid proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Strong Understanding of personal injury law and legal procedures
- Professional demeanor and client-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
